STUDENT MINISTRY

Middle & High School (6th-12th)

Raising Up the Next Generation

Westview Students exists to reach, disciple, and train teengers to make an eternal difference for Christ in their schools, families, and community. Our hope is that they build strong relationships with each other while growing in their relationship with Jesus. And so, in everything we do, we desire to see students growing and excited in their faith as they use the gifts God has given them to serve the church and carry out the Great Commission.

WEDNESDAYS

Westview Baptist Church in Sanford FL Student Ministry Band

WE MEET FROM 6-7:45 PM

Our middle and high school students (6th-12th) meet on Wednesdays from 6–7:45 PM. We meet in our gym and play games for the first 30 minutes. Whether we are playing dodgeball, nine-square, gagaball, or basketball, we are having fun and taking a break from the stress and burdens many teenagers carry.

Around 6:30 PM, we walk down the hall to our student ministry area where we worship through music and the study of God’s Word.

This is a great time to build friendships and community. It’s designed to give teenagers a place where they can have fun while learning more about who God is and His plan for their lives.

SUNDAYS

Westview Baptist Church in Sanford FL Students Play Game in Youth Room

SUNDAY SCHOOL AT 9:35 AM

Every Sunday at 9:35 AM our teenagers meet for Sunday School in our Student Ministry area. We give them a few minutes to hangout, talk, play games like ping-pong and fusball, and eat donuts and snacks.

We split into separate classes for middle school girls, high school girls, middle school guys, and high school guys where they walk through the morning's Bible study and discussion questions. We use Lifeway curriculum in our Sunday School classes.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU

EVENTS

Fun All Year Long

While there is a lot more to our Student Ministry than cool events, we do like to have fun. Throughout the year we plan exciting events for our students to invite their friends to attend. We have nerf wars, game nights, bowling, movie nights, DNOW, summer camp; as well as trips to Aquatica, Top Golf, and Rock the Universe at Universal Studios.

Fundraising

We know that the cost of camp and other activites can add up quick. So we provide two primary ways students can earn money toward our church events. First, is our chair teams. We set up and take down chairs in our gym for our 10:45 AM Sunday service. Anyone who assists in setting up or taking down the chairs earns money that goes into their individual designated account for future church activities. Second, is our dinner teams. We have Wednesday night dinners on the first Wednesdays of each month. The profit from these dinners is divided amoug the students who work each meal and goes into their individual designated accounts. Teenagers can usually earn the whole cost of camp by working in both of these areas. Our hope is for cost to never prevent a student from being a part of our events.
